Collector’s Note

This photograph was made inside an abandoned coal-powered  thermal power station deep in the Teruel Mountains of Aragón. Once part of the building’s working core, the room now stands open to the elements — a quiet stage where nature has begun to reclaim the abandoned infrastructure. What immediately caught my eye was the tree growing just beyond the shattered grid of windows, its branches pressing gently into the empty space as if reaching back into what industry left behind.

As the evening sun cut across the room, the light caught the dust, rust, and broken surfaces, casting long shadows that revealed the building’s old geometry. The warm glow transformed decay into something almost peaceful — , the walls softened, and the outside world beginning to seep inward.

This image is a small reflection on how time, nature, and light reshape the places we leave behind — a quiet dialogue between the past and the landscape that endures.
