After months of watching and waiting, the reservoir finally reached the level I had been anticipating after a lot of rain in the area and beyond this spring. Combined with a rare stillness in the air, the conditions aligned to produce a near-perfect reflection of the water tower and its access bridge — a moment where structure and surface became almost indistinguishable.

The elevated waterline transforms the scene. What was once defined by exposed margins and fluctuating levels is now unified into a continuous plane, allowing the geometry of the tower and bridge to extend seamlessly into the water below. The reflection is not simply a mirror, but a doubling — reinforcing the symmetry, balance, and precision of the structure.

Photographed on a calm, overcast day and subtly edited to remove the horizon, the image isolates this moment of equilibrium. The absence of visual interruption allows the composition to resolve into pure form: verticals suspended in stillness, horizontals stretching into silence, and a tonal gradient that dissolves the boundary between air and water.

This alignment of water level and atmosphere is transient — a brief convergence shaped by seasonal change, reservoir management, and weather. It is this impermanence that defines the image: a structure built for control, momentarily yielding to conditions that reveal its quiet, reflective counterpart.

This work forms part of my ongoing exploration of rural infrastructure in Aragón — structures built to function rather than to be seen, yet capable of a stark, contemplative presence when observed under precise conditions. Printed as a limited edition using archival materials, the photograph invites sustained viewing and reflection on landscapes shaped by necessity rather than spectacle.
